Apology from the Editor• There was no issue of FVNews Daily on Monday (Sep. 28), and this is a combined Tuesday-Wednesday issue (Sep. 29-30), later than we would like. Once every four years, nominations open for local government elections. We were overwhelmed with data about the elections in the many Council areas that our newspapers (my workplace) cover. Apologies that this workload prevented us from publishing
FVNews as normal. – Ash Long

Shoulder To Shoulder Program (1)
• Geelong Lodge of Unity & Prudence is supporting the  ‘Shoulder to Shoulder‘ program. Worshipful Master Lawrie Stendt and SecretaryColin Creece visited Program Director Ken Petzierides and participant Leiry Kambouris on site at the Corio workshop to donate a new hoist and lock up tool kit.• ‘Shoulder to Shoulder‘ is a program to assist vulnerable men in Geelong to get them involved in life and direction to a better future. What they do is source second hand lawn mowers, whipper snipper’s etc and refurbish them for sale. The sale part is not important; giving these men direction and a sense of achievement is the driver for Ken.

Shoulder To Shoulder Program (1)
• As a result of direct engagement by Colin Creece, multiple members of the Lodge have donated to and purchased items from ‘Shoulder to Shoulder’. It was then noticed that this workshop is small and equipment and tools are dilapidated and quite old. These men are working in a confined space on a concrete floor• It was decided by the Lodge to assist this Program further, which resulted in this recent donation.
