Famous Freemasons
•  “Thomas, David (1932-2002) – Dave Thomas was an orphan, but as founder of the popular Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers restaurant chain, he became a self-made man. Publicly he was the grandfatherly star of 800 TV commercials; privately he did extensive work promoting the cause of orphans. The fact that the hamburgers at Wendy’s are square is a reminder of Thomas’ motto: “Never cut corners”. Thomas was raised to Master Mason in Sol. D. Bayless Lodge No. 359, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and received the 33rd Degree, N.M.J., in November 1961 in Fort Wayne. He was active in the Scottish Rite Philanthropies including their Children’s Hospital program. His friend and mentor in the restaurant business was another Freemason, ‘Colonel’ Harland Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) fame.”
– Timothy Horton

Masonic Knowledge
• Masonic Etiquette. A sloppy, lack luster manner of saluting, of approaching the East (or any other station), of standing, and of speaking to an officer, is a reflection on the Lodge for a failure to give to the office the respect, which it is due. The Master should expect of every member, and of every other officer, a faithful rendering of the form of etiquette that is to be accorded to his own office, as it will create a more faithful observance of the form at every other station or place. Masonic Wisdom
• “We are committed to excellence in our lives and we are not willing to compromise ourselves for the sake of popularity. One time, the greatGerman mathematician, Karl Gustav Jacobi, was asked why he decided to spend his life at work in such an obscure field. He replied, ‘For the honor of the human spirit.’ That is the reason why we, as Masons, give our lives affirming our beliefs in moral conduct, brotherhood and compassion. We do it for the honour of the human spirit.” – Stanley F. Maxwell

The Last Word
• “There is no doubt in my mind that Masonry is the cornerstone of America.” – Dave Thomas
