Question about Interim CEO

• Don Cameron, The Lodge Metropolis, writes: “Going over some earlier FVNews Daily issues They make very interesting reading and show what progress has been made by the VAT (Ash Long). I note that in Issue 50 – Monday, June 22 – mention is made of the ‘appointment’ of an Acting CEO for a three-month term with an option for another three months. I have not seen any ‘evidence’ of the appointment, and wondered if it ever came about. Are you able to enlighten your readers?”
Editor replies: “The Board engaged Jeremy Cattell as Interim CEO for three months in July 2020, as announced by Peter Clark, Acting President of the Board of General Purposes, at the June Quarterly. Mr Cattell was appointed for a further three months to December 31, 2020, in October 2020.”

Masonic Knowledge
• Sixty four recipients of the Victoria Cross during the First World War alone were Freemasons, and 200 have been recipients of the rare and prestigious award since it was first instituted in 1856. It is estimated that Freemasons make up an astonishing 14 per cent of all VC recipients and this is put down to the type of person who wants to become a Freemason. They are by nature friendly and generous people, individuals who have an ingrained sense of duty to others and a heightened sense of selflessness and personal responsibility. These are the very traits that lead individuals to carry out the actions that are considered worthy of the Victoria Cross. The VC is only awarded for acts of conspicuous gallantry and courage in the face of an enemy. Since 1856, there have been 1358 VCs awarded.”
