It is our sad duty to record the passing today (Sunday) of Don McLeish, a former long standing member of the Duke of Clarence Lodge, Yea.

Aged in his late 90s, Don was an icon of the country town, north-east of Melbourne. He was a former Yea Shire Councillor, Yea Football-Netball Club legend, family man, farming identity, Freemason and all-round good bloke.

The current restrictions mean that he will not get the funeral service tribute that he deserved. It would have brought the district to a standstill. Sincere condolences to the family.
