Virtual Table Lodge
• Bruce Stockdale, Mordialloc Lodge of Charity, is promoting a Virtual Table Lodge, with a demonstration including the Celebration of the Seven Toasts at 7pm for 7.30pm on Wednesday, May 27. Bookings close at 7pm, Tuesday, May 26 HERE. Freemasons and non-Freemasons welcome. An adaptation of the Military component is included to honour our Police Force. Donations from the night will go to the police Legacy Fund to support the families of the four officers who recently lost their lives whilst on duty. Contact: Bruce Stockdale by EMAIL
Foundation, Lodges help Foodshare
• Barry Minster, Grand Almoner, shares news that Freemasons Foundation Victoria, supported by the Shepparton and Numurkah Freemasons, have donated $22,000 to Shepparton Foodshare’s $60,000 fundraiser, ‘Make A Meal Of June’. The annual dinner event, normally held at a local function centre, was set to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 restrictions, however as the critical local food rescue service relies on its own fundraising efforts to operate, cancelling was not an option. It set about identifying a new initiative, and ‘Make A Meal Of June – Takeout style’ was born. Details HERE
Freemasons help around the world
• North Wales Freemasons have donated thousands of pounds to help hospital patients speak to loved ones.The Freemasons have given £5,00 to purchase 50 Tablet PC’s for Awyr Las, a North Wales National Health Services Charity, which supports healthcare services and staff within Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.Upon hearing the news that visitors are no longer allowed to visit hospitals across North Wales in a bid to reduce the spread of COVID-19, North Wales Freemasons were determined to help front line staff to enhance patient care. John Hoult, head of North Wales Freemasons, said: “Our hearts and thoughts go out to those affected by this unparalleled event, we cannot thank the doctors, nurses and frontline NHS staff enough during this time of crisis. We are proud to play our part in supporting our local community.”

• Bernard Henry joined with Richard Elkington and Tony Bucca in attending last night’s Zoom meeting of Ivanhoe Grammarians Lodge. The meeting attracted members who are usually unable to attend in person: David Chessum (work), Philip Du Guesclin (distance), Doug Golden (Townsville), Maurice Golden (work), Howard Purcell (health), David Waugh (country), Bruce Whitehead (health), Robert Woolley (distance). In the ‘South’, Doug introduced his son Hugh who announced that he was lodging application papers to join the Lodge.
