Richard Elkington, Grand Master, was a welcome participant at the meeting. VAT member Bob Pullin is investigating possibilities of using radio and television, with online and print options also being used. It was agreed that such a campaign would be best employed after Lodges re-open next year. The campaign will, of course, go through an approval process by the  Grand Secretariat and Marketing teams.

Famous Freemasons
• Wodehouse, Pelham Grenville ‘P.G.’ (1881-1975) – Born prematurely in Guildford, Surrey, England, P.G. Wodehouse was a prolific writer of humorous short stories, novels, plays, poems and song lyrics. His most famous stories are about the adventures of Jeeves and Wooster, narrated by the wealthy, but scatterbrained, Bertie Wooster. By the Second World War, Wodehouse had become a wealthy man but, while living in the South of France, he was interned by the Nazis as “an undesirable alien” and, after the war, he moved to the USA, where he became a naturalised citizen in 1955. Known to his family and friends as ‘Plum’, P.G. Wodehouse was a golfing nut. One of his many quotes on golf was, “The least thing upset him on the links. He missed short putts because of the uproar of the butterflies in the adjoining meadows.” He was a member of Jerusalem Lodge No. 197, UGLE, London.
– Timothy Horton

Masonic Knowledge
• Masonic Etiquette Today is a book by Graham Redman, and is introduced by www.lewismasonic.co.uk – “This book draws together a number of different topics relating to Masonic protocol and provides a comprehensive guide to Masonic behaviour and practice. Topics covered include conduct and issues inside and outside the Lodge, such as dress, regalia, membership, voting, elections, precedence, seating, saluting, general procedures, visiting, behaviour (and difficulties), administrative matters and etiquette at dinner. The book also addresses topics of importance to Masons away from the Lodge, such as correspondence, ties and other Masonic wear, and openness.” LINK

Masonic Wisdom
• “Freemasonry is a science of symbols, in which, by their proper study, a search is instituted after truth, that truth consisting in the knowledge of the divine and human nature of God and the human Soul.” – Bro. Dr. A. G. MacKey

The Last Word
• “Freemasonry is a moral order, instituted by virtuous men, with the praiseworthy design of recalling to our remembrance the most sublime truths, in the midst of the most innocent and social pleasures, founded on liberality, brotherly love and charity.”
