1889 Bequest Society preview
• Rosemary Evans and Garry Sebo were yesterday (Thu.) announced as the patrons of the 1889 Bequest Society, part of the Freemasons Foundation Victoria. David Gibbs welcomed guests to a soft launch of the Society at the West Brighton Club, ahead of the official launch at the Grand Installation on March 27. Other speakers included Rodney Lavin and Philip Mayers. The aim is for 1889 Bequest Society supporters to add a codicil to their Will, to include a modest part of their estate towards the charitable projects of the FFV.
• Amongst those attending were Grand Master Richard Elkington, and other Past Grand Masters Bruce Bartrop, Bob Jones, Hillel Benedykt and Don Reynolds. Also there were Grand Secretary Garry Runge, and former Grand Secretary Peter Henshall. There were a number of Masonic VIPs and their partners who have been supporters of the Foundation, which is led by Executive Officer Neil Cripps.
Myrtleford handover today
• Freemasons Victoria and Scouts Victoria join today (Fri.) for a handover event of the former Temple. Grand Master Richard Elkington will be in attendance to present the keys of the building to Rod Byrnes, Chief Commissioner of Scouts, and several local Scouts. “Our ideals are highly similar, and we believe that we have a long future together in supporting communities such as Myrtleford in developing premises that will service the needs of not only our respective organisations, but also the wider community.”
• Others attending include Frank Warner, Acting CEO of Freemasons Victoria, and Greg Landgren, Chairman of the Board of Scouts Victoria. Kelly Leventis, Freemasons Victoria Marketing Co-Ordinator, issued a media release with the aim of attracting media publicity in the North-East Region.

Masonic Mailbag
• Graham Pitcher contributes this piece, What Is Masonry?
In the home it is kindness
In the Business it is honesty
In the Society it is courtesy
At work it is fairness
Towards the unfortunate it is pity
Towards the weak it is help
Towards the Strong it is trust
Towards the penitent it is forgiveness
Towards the fortunate congratulations
Towards the good reverence and love
This then in part is the answer to
– Quo Vadis Domine – Wither Goest Thou ?”
