1. Grand Master’s Doings
• Grand Master Richard Elkington and Kathleen attended the NSW-ACT Grand Installation last weekend. Lesly Norman Hicks is the new Grand Master. The NSW-ACT jurisdiction has a membership of 7151. WATCH the Grand Installation video.
• New NSW-ACT Deputy Grand Master is Air Vice Marshal Dr Graeme Mollar who is originally from Sale and Albert Park Lodge. New Assistant Grand Master is Kris Albano, a 50-year-old of Filipino heritage.
Richard presented a 50-year jewel to Rick Cove at Union Lodge of North Gippsland in Bairnsdale last Thursday (Nov. 11). Rick and Richard grew up In Newborough and attended Scouts together.

• Richard attended the Maffra Neighbourhood House at the former Freemasons Maffra building. Darren Chester MP was also in attendance.
 

2. Pithy Paragraphs
• The Grand Communication of the United Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Victoria is to be held tonight (Wed.) at 7.30pm. Promotions and Conferments in Grand Rank will be announced. The Election of Grand Master is to take place. There will be an address from Peter Crick, GM (Royal and Select Masters of Victoria).
• 
A new WEBSITE to service Grand Mark, Royal Ark Mariners and Supreme Grand Chapter is now live. www.beyondthecraft.net.au
Membership numbers (as at October 1): Mark Degree 1314; Ark Mariner Degree 508.
• The total number of COVID cases at the Royal Freemasons Homes – Coppin Centre is 25 residents and 10 staff.
Freemasons Victoria and the Western Masonic Centre Association Inc (Sunshine) are to sign a Memorandum of Understanding.
• Junior Grand Warden John McTaggart delivered a Remembrance Day oration  about a Wimmera Lodge WWI Digger, Bro Captain Bertram Perry Military Medal, at the United Memorial Merbein Lodge last Thursday. Bro. Perry wrote a lecture titled The Art of Freemasonry in the early 1980’s and it was recently found amongst lodge records.
• Applications close this Friday (Nov. 19) for the position of Grand Secretary.

4. Comms Success Stories
Cr Angela Long and long-time Mason Barry Long are featured in The Local Paper – Greater Dandenong Edition (Page 5, Wed., Nov. 17) in a report about the former Dandenong Masonic Centre.
• The South Gippsland Sentinel-Times published a report featuring Freemasonry. Pictured were Rose Lodge op shop secretary Barbara Bambling, treasurer Lyn Martell and president Dianne Willshire, with RoseLodge’s Glen Richards.

Freemasons Foundation Victoria is seeking expressions of interest from young Freemasons who might wish to serve as observer to the Board of Directors of the Foundation so as to further develop their understanding of governance and make an advancement in Masonic knowledge. The appointment would be for one year and the Board will welcome the participation in the delivery of the objectives of the Foundation.
