1.  Grand Master’s Doings
• Richard Elkington was accompanied by Myles King at the wreath laying at the Shrine on ANZAC Day.
• The Grand Master attended part of the all-day Constitution workshop held on Saturday (May 7) by the Masonic Council, chaired by Deputy Grand Master Anthony Bucca. Also in attendance was Grand Registrar Ian Upjohn.
• TheGrand Master continues in the next stage of discussions regarding a proposed Masonic Centre of Excellence.

• Richard Elkington received an approximately 4200 years old clay tablet, a cuneiform temple stone from Ur of the Chaldeans. The presentation was made by Jim Jolly, a member of Bairnsdale Daylight Lodge, at Gippsland Lakes Lodge at Lakes Entrance.

2. Comms Success Stories
• The presentation by Freemasons Victoria to Fr Bob Maguire’s Foundation at Sunshine was featured on the front cover of last week’s Melbourne Observer newspaper.
• The Communications and Marketing Volunteer Action Team fortnightly meeting will this week feature a discussion paper on social media by Xavier Murtagh.

• The Bairnsdale Advertiser received a report of the presentation of the ancient clay table (see item above).

• Past Grand Master Austin Asche was featured in The Australian newspaper.

3. Help for Father Bob

• A good gathering assembled at Freemasons Western for the presentation of $15,000 to Fr Bob Maguire.

• Ivanhoe Grammarians Lodge, Amicus Lodge and Williamstown Lodge are combining to present a ‘theatre’ recliner chair for Fr Bob Maguire.
• The Western District is collecting warm clothing to give to disadvantaged people through Fr Bob’s Open Pantry at South Melbourne and Broadmeadows. Contact: 0450 876 112.
