1.  Grand Master’s Doings
• Richard Elkington attended the Gregorios Lodge fundraiser for Think Pink on Sunday (May 29). This included the viewing of a film, Man of God, which depicts the trials and tribulations of Man of God depicts the trials and tribulations of St Nektarios of Aegina.

• The Grand Master is a regular attender of the Lodge of Instruction Sunday film nights.
• Richard travelled to Gisborne last Saturday (May 28) for the Installation of Robert Hamilton at Sunbury Lodge, followed by a High Tea.
• He is back to Gisborne this coming Saturday (June 4) for the re-consecration.
• The Grand Master was impressed with the quality of the work at the Firemen’s Night held by Mordialloc Lodge of Charity at Keysborough on Friday night (May 27). An Order of Merit was presented to Col Langley.
• Richard Elkington travelled to Freemasons Mount Waverley last Thursday (May 26) for the Lodge Observance Installation.of Sashi Sanmugathas.

• The Grand Master particularly enjoyed his visit to Rutherglen Lodge in the previous week.
• Past Grand Masters Garry Sebo and Hillel Benedykt will be part of the Royal and Select meeting to be held tonight (Mon., May 30) at Freemasons Bayside.
• Richard will attend the gathering of Royal Deputy Grand Masters later this week.

2. Comms Success Stories
• Xavier Murtagh will deliver a paper on how Freemasons Victoria can best use social media, when the Communications and Marketing Volunteer Action Team next meets on Wednesday, June 8.
• A Talking Points document is due to be published next week for Senior Grand Officers and District Co-Ordinators following a Zoom meeting for SGOs on Wednesday, June 8.
• The latest Grand Master’s Chat video between Richard Elkington and Ash Long has had 598 views. Watch it HERE
• Apologies for the gap since the previous FVNews. The Editor was hit by COVID.

3. Pithy Paragraphs

• Freemasons Foundation Victoria held a luncheon at the Victoria Golf Club on Friday (May 27). David Mann, an external member of  the Freemasons Victoria Commercial Council, was guest speaker. The occasion also promoted the 1889 Bequest Society, with a talk by Foundation Chair, Rod Lavin.
• There looks to be considerable interest in the Open Installation of Spiro Perdikomatis at Glenroy Lodge at the Essendon Masonic Centre, to be held at 3pm on Saturday, June 18. Deputy Grand Master Anthony Bucca will be Installing Master. The $60-per-person South will be held at Aurora Receptions, Brunswick East. BOOK
• The Deputy Grand Master travelled to Bendigo last week for the Installation at Sir John Quick Lodge.

• The first meeting of the Ivalda Masonic Centre Association Inc. was held last Saturday (May 28). Damian Byrne is to be President.
• David Sherrit  will be giving a talk on Scottish Freemasonry Signs and Symbols at the Combined Schools Lodge meeting at freemasons Melbourne on at 7pm Wednesday (June 1). The South will also include entertainment by Ben Delves Trio.
• 
Nominations for the position of Deputy Grand Master will close at the fall of the gavel on June 15 at the Quarterly Communication.
• 
Royal Freemasons has appointed a new CEO, with John Fogarty taking over from Kerri Rivett.

• The Victorian Freemasons Convention is being scheduled for August 26-28 at Freemasons Melbourne.
• Royal Freemasons Homes of Victoria has sold a prominent Armstrong Creek site held for five years, says RealEstateSource 
• 
The Re-Consecration and Centenary Dinner of Old Melburnians Lodge wll now be on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Freemasons Melbourne.
• 
Joe Lawrence of Union Lodge of North Gippsland advises that the latest meeting features a demonstration by a paramedic of the defibrillator and how to use it properly if ever needed
