1. Our People

• Anthony Bucca, Deputy Grand Master, is Acting Grand Master until his Installation in March 2023.

• Richard Elkington resigned as Grand Master, effective from last Thursday (Aug. 4). He is now Immediate Past Grand Master.

• Peter Henshall was elected by the Deputy Master’s Selection Panel last Saturday. He will be Deputy Grand Master-Elect from the September Quarterly Communication.

• Garry Runge is Chairman of the Masonic Council.
• Felix Pintado is Chairman of the Commercial Council.

2. Pithy Paragraphs

• The Long Tan Commemoration meeting will now be held on Friday, September 16 at Freemasons Ivalda.
• Ivan ‘Bill’ Warner
of the Daylight Lodge of St Andrews No 706 will be presented with a 70 years Appreciation Certificate on Wednesday, September 28, by President E.R.Tobin of the Unanimity  Club, representing Freemasons, past and present, of the Victoria Police. Ladies invited please advise Secretary Arthur Rogers, 0414 512 443, if attending.

• A donation of $3000 has been by the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation Northern Region, with support by Freemasons Victoria, to the Northern Hospital Neo-Natal Unit.

8. Things To Do

• The Art of Memory refers to a specific set of memory disciplines and techniques whereby one would create a memory palace. This could be based on a real or imaginary place which, using intensive imagination, one would build up in the memory to the degree that it could be easily visited and used as a kind of mnemonic storehouse. Martin Faulks is the author of ‘A Mosaic Palace: Freemasonry and the Art of Memory‘ and a publishing professional, being the General Manager of Lewis Masonic, the world’s largest Masonic publisher. Martin will speak at the Admiral Collingwood Lodge on August 23, at Freemasons Ivalda as a lead-in to the Victorian Freemasons Convention. Foundation News• A Freemasons Foundation Victoria Education Bursary provides support to post-secondary students undertaking their first tertiary course who require financial assistance with their studies. The second and final round of bursaries for 2022 is open for applications until the end of August.
