1. Our People

• Anthony Bucca, Deputy Grand Master, Acting Grand Master, was Installing Master for Kensington Lodge last Thursday at Essendon. He was supported by the 1990 Team. On the floor were Brethren including Bob Jones, Don Reynolds, Ken Cribbes and Bill Valentan.
• The Acting Grand Master was at the ‘Super Saturday’ (Aug. 20)Raising of 11 Brethren at the Western Masonic Centre (Sunshine) on Saturday.
• Anthony Bucca attended an Initiation at Diamond Creek for the Diamond Valley Lodge on Friday (Aug. 19).

• The Acting Grand Master will present awards at the Victorian Masonic Convention to be held this coming weekend at East Melbourne.

• Anthony Bucca, as Acting Grand Master, will lead Freemasons in regalia, in a Grand Parade, as part of the Kyneton Daffodil Festival on Sunday, September 11.

2. Pithy Paragraphs

• The Lord Northcote Lodge had a full house at Ivalda on Friday night (Aug. 19) for its ‘Night To Remember’ with entertainer Paul Hogan.
• Rhys Webb reports that Sunday (Aug. 21) was a special day for Harold Melecio as he was raised at Lowan LodgeFreemasons attended from all over the region for this special event. Bro. Melecio was treated to a birthday cake, and the members made sure it was celebrated in style. Thanks to Wimmera Lodge and Dimboola Lodge for support.
• Grand Registrar Ian Upjohn flew to Mildura at the weekend to lead a Constitution Transition ‘Have Your Say’ meeting.

• Ron Ferdinands will become Master of Lodge Liberation on Saturday, October 1. It was founded by Prisoners-of-War from Changi, Singapore, on November 14, 1949. He continues the tradition set by his father who was WM of Lodge Kinta (English Constitution) in 1961.

• The Annual Masonic Synagogue Service was successfully held at South Caulfield Hebrew Congregation Temple on Saturday (Aug. 20).

• Auditions are being held in mid-September for the 2023 Grand Lodge Ceremonial Team. Final team selection will be made in November. Training will commence in January, ahead of the Installation on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Applications close September 1. The Country Component will come from the North-East.
• Garry Runge successfully obtained Pakenham-Berwick Gazette publicity for the Berwick-Balcara Lodge and Lodge of Progress’s financial support of local Scouts.

• Condolences are offered on the passing to the Grand Lodge Above of John Zalewski of Altona Lodge.
• Grand Chaplains Geoff Paton and John Glover are investigating the possibility of a multi-faith service in October at Royal Freemasons (Coppin Hall). Theyare looking for Brethren who are also members of  clergy in any religion to be invited to take part in the service. gu_paton@hotmail.com

• The Tweed Valley Masonic Welfare Association has written a letter of appreciation to Samaritan Lodge with thanks for a $1055 donation towards flood victims. There were four recipients in Lismore and Ballina.
