Vale Fred Treble
• We regret to advise of the passing to Grand Lodge Above of RWor. Bro Fred Treble OAM, PJGW. March 28, 1927-March 15, 2021. Aged 93. 73 years a Freemason. Awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in January. Noelle and Col Mason write: “Just a short while ago we received a phone call from Fred’s son Peter informing us of Fred’s death. Fred has been in hospital these past weeks and Fred passed peacefully to the Great Architect. Our thoughts and the many, many memories of Fred and Joan will be close to everyone who knew them and in particular Fred. A son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, musician, Mayor and Master of the Maryborough Lodge No 22. And many, many other Lodges. Happy, contented and keenly aware of his surroundings, softly spoken and always with a twinkle in his eye. Please think of Lindy and Peter and their families at this very sad time. May there be many blessings Fred for a long life well lived.”
50-Year Jewel for Graeme Price
• Rhys Webb writes: “After 13 months without ‘physical’ meetings, Nhill Freemasons were able to hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 16. The special event saw the presentation of a 50-year jewel and certificate to Wor. Bro Price by District Co-Ordinator RWor. Br.o John McTaggart. Graeme joined Cobram Lodge No. 381 on April 1, 1970, and stayed a member of that lodge until it closed in 2002. Graeme joined Lowan (Nhill) Lodge in 1988 and has been an active member ever since. He was Worshipful Master of Lowan Lodge in 2013 and has been a Grand Steward in the Victorian Grand Lodge team 2016-17. Graeme states he was invited to join by a friend and he had uncles who were members so that’s why he joined. He also stated that being a shy man Freemasonry has helped him develop his communication skills. Any man who wants to enhance and develop communication skills and become a better person in their community should think of joining. Graeme thanked his wife Brenda and his family for the support they have shown him over the 50 years as a Freemason.”

World News
• The Ross-Shire Journal (Scotland)reports: “Freemasons in Ullapool are using the proceeds of an endowment policy which matured last year to help good causes locally. In 1995 the members of Lodge St Martins No. 1217 took out a 25-year investment plan which they were going to use to finance their centenary celebrations in 2020. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic the centenary party was cancelled. The brethren were left with around £9000, which was no longer required.” READ MORE

Famous Freemasons
• Solomon, also called Jedidiah, was, according to the Hebrew Bible or Old Testament, Quran, and Hadiths, a fabulously wealthy and wise king of the United Kingdom of Israel who succeeded his father, King David. The conventional dates of Solomon’s reign are about 970 to 931 BCE, normally given in alignment with the dates of David’s reign. He is described as king of the United Monarchy, which broke apart into the northern Kingdom of Israel and the southern Kingdom of Judah shortly after his death. Following the split, his patrilineal descendants ruled over Judah alone.
• According to the Talmud, Solomon is one of the 48 prophets. In the Quran, he is considered a major prophet, and Muslims generally refer to him by the Arabic variant Sulayman/Suleiman, son of Dawud/Daud.
• The Hebrew Bible identifies him as the builder of the First Temple in Jerusalem, beginning in the fourth year of his reign, using the vast wealth he and his father had accumulated. He dedicated the temple to Yahweh, the God of Israel. He is portrayed as great in wisdom, wealth and power beyond either of the previous kings of the country, but also as a king who sinned. His sins included idolatry, marrying foreign women and, ultimately, turning away from Yahweh, and that led to the kingdom’s being torn in two during the reign of his son Rehoboam. – Wikipedia
