9. Royal & Select announcement
• V.Ill.Comp. John Travers, Grand Recorder, GCRSMV writes: Following the close of nominations on March 31, MWBro. Richard Elkington in the Craft is set to become the Most Illustrious head of the Royal & Select Order in Victoria when he is installed on October 22. R.Ill.Comp. Richard has previously served the Order in 2014-15 as its Grand Principal Conductor of the Work and in 2015/16 as its Deputy Grand Master, the third highest and second highest offices respectively in the Order.• As the M.Ill.Comp Grand Master, Richard will lead an Order of nearly 240 companions organised into 12 councils throughout Victoria. He is a member of the Mornington Council No. 21 and has been a member of the Order since August 1987. The Royal & Select Order links the Chapter, Mark and Craft Degrees. It consists of four degrees and in the second of its four degrees it has arguably one of the most beautiful monologues in Masonic ritual. Royal & Select has had many excellent Grand Masters since it became an independent order under its own Grand Council on August 27, 1982, and we look forward to Richard continuing that fine tradition.
