1. This Week

• The Grand Master, Anthony Bucca, will visit New South Wales-ACT (Sat.-Sun., Sep. 16-17), and attend at Victorian Quarterly Communication (Wed., Sep. 20), Heathcote (Thu., Sep. 21), Werribee Enterprise (Open Installation – Sat., Sep. 23), and Williamstown St Andrews (Thu., Sep. 28).
• He is due to attend Southern Cross Lodge at Maldon tonight (Thu., Sep. 14).

• From his Freemasons Foundation allowance, the Grand Master has donated $5000 to Dementia Australia, and $2500 to Lifeline Central Victoria and Mallee.
• The Grand Master last week travelled to Geelong for a charity luncheon at which $50,000 was presented to Hope Bereavement.

• The Grand Master has called for volunteers to organise collections for the 2024 Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, to participate in the ‘Sleep At The G’ event to raise funds to address homelessness, and to become Volunteer Ambassadors.
• Planning is underway for the 175-year Re-Consecration of Geelong Lodge of Unity and Prudence to be held at Freemasons Geelong on Saturday, October 21. The Grand Master will be attending, with John Patterson as Junior Grand Warden.

• The Grand Master will attend the Annual Communication of the District Grand Lodge of the Middle East at Johor Bahru, Malaysia, on Saturday, October 28. He is provisionally booked for October appointments including Kyneton (Oct. 2), Plaridal (Oct. 7), Lodge of Australia Felix (Oct. 12), Lodge Liberation (Oct. 14), Cranbourne (Oct. 16), Melton (Oct. 19), Geelong Lodge of Unity and Prudence (Oct. 21), Northern United Chapter (Oct. 24).

• Freemasons Foundation Victoria advises that Masonic Grants approved in August included Eschol Lodge (Scouts – 1st Kialla Scouts Group), $1000; Brighton District Lodge (Gather My Lodge Project), $3000; Williamstown Lodge/Sunshine Wisdom Lodge/Werribee Enterprise Lodge (Dementia Australia), $20,000. Very Special Kids received $10,150.
• Foundation ‘named sub funds’ in August were Epworth Medical Foundation, $6000 and $37,300; and Epworth Medical Foundation – Ray Millar Memorial Scholarship, $8000.
• Freemasons Foundation Victoria Education Support Grants last month went to Cosmopolitan Lodge, $700; Guiding Star Lodge, $500; Guiding Star Lodge – Ballarat, $750; Leura Lodge, $1250; Peace and Loyalty Lodge, $5000; Gippsland Lakes Lodge/Bairnsdale Daylight Lodge/Mitchell River Lodge/Union Lodge/Orbost Lodge, $30,000. There were Ongoing Tertiary Scholarships totalling $500.
• Foundation Community Grants included The Shire, $15,000; and Hope Bereavement, $50,000. A further $20,000 Disaster Relief payment was made to the Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project.
• Freemasons Foundation Victoria had a free Will-writing offer earlier this month.• Michael Maher is organising an event to support Para Matilda Nicole Christodoulou. DETAILS
• Andrew Gleeson advises that Spring Vale Lodge meeting has been moved from Monday, September 25, to Saturday, September 23 for his Installation. BOOK The October 23 meeting will be a First Degree. The November 27 meeting will be a talk by Eric Williams on ‘How a Lodge Works’.
